Habberstad Grounds and Gardens

Enjoy sitting on our large front porch or stroll the spacious, open grounds and quiet neighborhood that surround the Habberstad House, providing a perfect place for rest and relaxation. A tiered fountain with a pond and various gardens dot the large yard. Seasonal shrubs and flowers such as peonies, rose bushes, hydrangeas, bridal wreath, star magnolias, clematis, Japanese anemones, asters, lilies, tulips, daffodils and annuals add color and grace to the gardens.

Seating areas, including a shaded pergola with an Amish swing, are located throughout the grounds. Watch the varieties of birds, including nesting blue birds, orioles, goldfinches, house finches, chickadees, woodpeckers and cardinals. Red and gray squirrels play in the trees and the yard gardens. Sit out at night and enjoy the star-lit sky. The Lanesboro bluff country area surrounding the Root River rarely has mosquitoes to pester you!
